    Default I got outside!!!

So here in IOWA, 65 today, snow is melted, sand everywhere, perfect for the tard. Dropped the battery back in it and put the plastics back on, took half day off and went riding. It was like the past 3 months had to be forgotten by getting the armor on and sliding in some sand. KICKASS got to ride. I work from home, so being outside felt new to me like I had not seen the sun in 4 years. only 1 pic though. The frozen lake I went by.

I went out at lunch today as well. Got a quick 25 miles in with a buddy of mine.

Glad to hear, I'm going to try and get mine out tonight. I'm close to Northwest Iowa, and it's finally nice for one day here! Snow's in the forcast for the whole weekend though...

I'm in Iowa also. Waukee/WDM area. I was out on my 'tard on Wednesday and today. Yesterday was the best weather but I worked all day. Rode so far on Wednesday that I ran out of gas and had to call my wife to bring the gas can!!

I have pissed in the ocean on both florida coasts. Swam in 50 degree water in the blizzard of 93 in Daytona, Stood on the field of the citrus bowl watching Peyton M. Play. I have forgotten more trips to Florida than any other state. ITs too hot there. You can keep it.

Side note. The Doc said since I see so little sun I had a deficincy in Vitamin D, He said to take 4 of the D pills a day, how wacked is that. I laughed at him and said " I am a computer guy, I have to keep up my pasty image, it's how I get hired." If you are not pale, as a computer geek, people don't have confidence in you.

Great that you got out to ride.

We finally got a reprieve up here in Ontario too... out on the DRZ I went! It was great to be on 2 wheels again, but the DRZ felt a little "wanting" knowing that the TL was in the garage. The fun factor started once I got into a city with the DRZ (I no longer live in a city) and all was good.

Bring on the DRZ replacement; YZF426... street plated!

Funny, last year (the crappiest winter ever) I had a severe Vitamin D deficiency. I only take two D pills a day though. I felt like a completely new person in about two days. Huge difference. I'm a med student so I was just sitting in class or the library for about 12 hours a day. Didn't sun once from about November to March.

After living in the mtns in TN and being spoiled with switchbacks for miles, I can say the riding here in Iowa sucks.

Yeah it does!! I've got two friends that I've managed to sway into the world of sumos and that's it. I need more!! haha. I'm starting to think that this summer I'm going to have to take weekend trips to different cities just to tear it up and maybe meet up with other Junkies

Yeah the riding here sucks! Unless of course you like looooooooooooong stretches of road and boredom. Perhaps if I owned a Hayabusa and there was no law enforcement, it would be more fun here.

Yeah, I moved out here from Idaho and I definitely miss the mountains. I lived in Northern Georgia for a couple years also (didn't have a bike then though) so I know why you miss TN. I sold my CBR this winter but it really was the better bike for Iowa riding. I've been making up for it by exploring all of the dirt and gravel roads around here that I wouldn't ride on my CBR.

Bingo, gravel everywhere. Too bad they don't come with berms or curves of any kind. Can you say straight gravel road for 15 miles? I know you can.
What we need is a parking lot to setup a mini course with some orange cones that we won't be bothered at.

If we all get some little mx bikes, we could meet at Aaron's house and have some bar banging action. It looks like he has a pretty good sized area for a little mini TT or MX track.

My daughter has a RM65 and I am planning on getting another 65, or a KLX110 so I can ride with her at the local OHV park. Since it looks like the Marshalltown Kart track may be in trouble with the loss of the Powerplant construction deal, it looks like I may as well stick to dirt going play toys for now at least.
