    Default Anyone know torque specs for lambda probe on Husky450/510?

    Got a bung/plug for my lambda probe today. I'm going to take the lambda probe out and put the plug in. The torque specs aren't in the owner's manual(probably in the workshop manual). Does anyone know what the torque specs are for the lambda probe? I've checked a table for that size bolt(M18 2.5mm) and I think it should be approx 210 pounds per foot. Is that right?

    hell no! when i installed mine i just put the wrench on it and gave it a pull. it doesnt have to be dead on like a head bolt or something, just make sure its tight.

    That's what I thought but I don't want it to blow off while I'm riding so I thought I'd check the correct torque.

    What do you mean? I've got an aftermarket lambda probe plug that's the right size but it doesn't have the holes in it that the one in the Husqvarna power-up kit has. Is it OK to use it?

    when the bung squeezes the washer it will lock up nice not to mention the heat of the exhaust will act as lock tite with the expansion of the metals. If your that worried put some blue locktite. I just did mine up with no locktite and it was actually quite hard to turn, It hasnt moved a bit!

    The average wheel for a car is torqued to 80-85 ft. lbs.

    I think the motor mount bolt for my 636 was 36 or 56 ft. lbs.

    Just to give you an idea.

    I dont see why not..I think its only like 4 -6 threads deep make sure it doesnt extend into the header pipe too far. I would recomend 15 foot/pounds of torque and then mark the plug on side facing engine. Remove plug and drill one hole with 1/16th bit and a drill press. Google "how to safety wire" for more general tips on that. Re-install plug to 15ft/lbs and run safety wire from plug along header towards rear and connect to welded loop used for exhaust spring. Done!

    What are you going to plug the harness with? I hear its just a resistor but does anyone know what the resistive value is? can someone with the power up kit measure it so if i dont buy the power up kit i can still get the proper map?

    Thanks

    I've got the mode connector. It comes with the bike here in Oz. You can use a 2.2 Ohm 1/2 watt resistor. There's a link here for a how to;

    It's for a 610 but I'm pretty certain it's the same for 450/510.
