Default aftermarket header. That much difference??

Hi, I am looking at getting a '07 drz400sm. It has a yoshi slip on, jet kit, and airbox mod. What kind of power difference would it make upgrading to a Yoshi header as apposed to the stock header. Thanks for the help.

any aftermarket header is better.. the header is where the most restriction is in the exhaust... the slip on is purely for looks/sound

I rode my SM with just my FMF Q2 muffler and the stock header pipe and then with the Q2 muffler and an FMF Powerbomb header.

There was a noticable power gain after adding the FMF header.
I wouldn't call it huge, but it was noticable.

If you're looking for more power, it's a no-brainer that you replace both muffler and head pipe with aftermarket items.

Do I have to go Yoshi with the header, or is there a better header out there that I could use with that pipe? Also, I have been looking online for a header but cant find one. Does anyone know where I can go to find one?

As far as I know, any aftermarket header is better than the stock SM header for power.
My main concern would be buying one that will fit without headaches, although I think you could fit almost any brand with some engineering if need be.

I'd see if Yoshimura sells just the head pipe (something tells me they don't, but hopefully I'm wrong) or try to pick one up used.
