Question 320mm rotor and stock xr650r front wheel

I am converting my dirt sled to a SM setup with new 17 inch wheels and 320mm front rotor. I want to swap between dirt and street with minimal effort and was wondering what rotor size will fit the stock xr650r front wheel and also be campatible with the newly installed caliper relocator that comes with the SM conversion. I would assume that I would need another 320mm rotor that fits the stock wheel but not sure. Also any info on were to purchase the part I need is appreciated.

Are you wanting quick change? If so Procycle has a kit for $200.00.

Sounds like a easy conversion but I will just get a rotor. It looks like the kit I will getting to convert to super moto already has the caliper relocator to convert to a 320mm rotor. I want to be able to switch back to dirt with little effort so I will just purchase another 320mm rotor for my stock front wheel.

I would worry about a rotor that big off-road. I don't know where you ride, but if there are decent size rocks around you will easily smack and bend that very expensive rotor. I'm doing the same thing with my 650r and its only four bolts to remove the relocation bracket so it shouldn't take long. I'm going to also safety wire the bolts just in case I forget to put thread locker on them.

Default Don't go with the 320mm

320 will be too big for offroad. I went with the EBC wave 280. I bought one for each wheel set, as I wanted to quickly switch back and forth between dirt and sumo without messing with the caliper relo. I've run the 280 in some seriously hairy stuff in Colorado and Moab and haven't dinged it yet. The 280 has more than enough stopping power for street tarding.

I have the 320mm ebc and 280mm ebc for street/dirt setup. Takes me less then 10 minutes to unbolt caliper, switch adapter, and re-torque the caliper back on.

I run the full on Braking supermoto setup both on and off road. The extra braking power off road is soooo nice when you have a 300+lbs bike you are trying to get slowed down in a hurry.

280mm is not big enough for the street. I have no problem baking the fluid in my current setup when we stop to do a couple hot laps in a parking lot.

It is all about brake modulation.
