Default WNC prelude to Epic Foothills (dry run) 3/8

So far the forecast looks very favorable for a motard ride this Sunday, 68deg and sunshine.

My son and I plan to do a dry run for the upcoming Spring Epic Foothills ride to double check the route and get a better tally of actuall miles and times. We'll be starting at the Wallymart PL in Brevard, NC at 8:30am and riding the proposed route of approx 200mi and returning to same PL by dark.

Anyone who'd like to join us is more than welcome to and won't be
forfeiting their chance at the actuall ride in April, you'll just get a 2fer1 deal.

Indies bike blew up....again..... but Spunk might make it.(on his new garage queen)
I guess Spunk could take my KTM if he wants to throw my other back tire on ........Oh Wait......Spunk with a key to my bike for a whole week BAD IDEA

Quick heads up. Made a leasurely cruise over to Brevard this morning. Umm between the snow melt chemicals / sand, and the heavy dew / fog it was SLICK. Since the time change slides my start time toward cold thirty am, I'll sit this one out. Good Hunting!

Thanks for the warning on the roads Hazdageek, we'll go easy. For anyone else that's wanting to go we'll be pulling out of the Wallymart PL right at 9:00am so be gased up and ready to roll. Also please remember our two second rule while on the ride, if the roads are sandy we might even want to push that to three seconds. See ya'll there.

Well crap if that's the concensous I guess we better all cancel, I really hadn't considered how much sand might still be on the roads. Me and Michael will probably get a later start then and just do a portion of the ride on roads we scout first to check for conditions.

See ya'll at the main event next month.

Hope Ya'll had fun. I had to put on a tire, and the damn bead would not pop off.

But yeah it was sketchy in spots, but there were some sections that were clear. Blind corners were untrustworthy though.

See what a fun day you guys missed! When the roads have too much sand on 'em then head for sandy roads. We had a blast on and off the road, thanks for putting up the pics Mickie and that second one of you jumping in the parking lot at the golf course needs to be your avatar.

Nice pics Goose, looks like a good time. I love the shot of your two bikes at the top of the mtn on the dirt trail. What did Micahel shoot on that hole?
