Wanting to see pics of that. I'm thinking it will make a good back up for my X2, seems I may need one? The BD is just ugly to me. That photo of your Husky is the best though

    Live2Race,

Why dont you try the PMXtech 65wat osram bulb upgrade in the EXC mask?. It's a hell of alot brighter than our stock light on the SMC.

L2R, what's the status with the old housing? I was looking at other threads and posts here, seems some are using the EXC(dirt) housing? not the -R. Yours is the -R isn't it. Progress anyone. I'm in the process of getting an HID H4 for my stock rectangle. My X2 will be back on by Wed, love that light. The EXC is way cheaper and if it fits the HID H4 I'll have a great looking HID back up for the X2.

Yes, mine is a EXC-R front mask. I havent ridden at night in a few weeks and I'm kinda draggin ass on it now. I sold my stock headlight a while back but found a guy here that wants to trade straight up for his stock mask and headlight. I just gotta hook up with him and do the swap. maybe this weekend....

Saw this thread a few days ago http://www.supermotojunkie.com/showthread.php?t=83003 Thought it might apply to some of us. Took me 8 weeks to get an X2 back on my bike. I had to make several calls to TT they finally sent me a new one, old one was lost in shipping somehow? I put it back on this morning and went for a long ride before work it was great. Done with my rant. I'd also like to know where to get an EXC mask to work on my conversion, at a great price.

I got a brand new stock mask back on the bike tonight....FINALLY! I dont have pics but I'll get some up this weekend. I can tell already that the light pattern is 100 times better. I still need to adjust the beam height but over all I think I'll be happy with this setup for night rides.

Sounds nice, any chance you could throw up what all you have when finished?
and how much it all was? tried riding at night with stock and it sucks ass big time.
Also how is it to oncoming traffic (if you can test it). I know i hate when people have
ghetto lights that blind you when coming at them.

Yep, I got the HID in the stock "rectangle" mask. Having a brand new glass light housing makes a big diff over that plastic EXC-R housing or a faded stock housing for that matter.

I havent tested it out yet but I will take it for a spin tonight and take some pics. But like i said, the new stock housing with the HID light puts a MUCH better light spread on the ground than the EXC-R mask kit with the same HID light. As far as how it looks to oncoming traffic, I'm not sure. The housing has about a 10-15 degree angle adjustment. I will admit that when I'm on my bike at night I can care less about how it looks to others as long as I can see what need to see, that all that matters.

awesome. thanks for info, def going to do this, even though the stock mask just
    doesn't look right.
Couldn't you just get the Auto Kit for only 50 more and have a whole set as a spare
in case shit happens? doesn't look like there is a difference between the two kits.

My H4 HID is still going strong in my stock headlight. Been doing a lot of night rides lately and it's really cone in handy. I like the pattern on low, and I only use high for cornering. I just wish the stock mask wasn't so ugly.
