Thanks GavinJR for putting this together, too many people have no idea on the time, effort and $$$ that has been put in just to get the series to this point.

Let the crybabies go on crying and let their comments roll off your back, keep your eyes on the future.

APA, most of your comments seem centered around no East Coast rounds, I am sure if you are willing to fund and promote an East Coast round XTRM would consider adding it to the schedule.

    Thanks Gavin,

To everyone else we should be greatfull we even have a series. It may not be the most ideal situation but what is these days. I say if you want to make more money go faster. This is racing after all. Supermoto is not in a position to put up show money. It is a sad state of affairs but its the world we live in now, just accept it and go racing or put your sac on the line and start your own series. If your not part of the solution your part of the problem. So instead of just complaining how about emailing Gavin with viable options and reasonable suggestions or contacts that can donate to the sport.

    Default Thanks Ryan & Gary!

Lets not forget the primary reason we all do this, it's certainly not for the money!

I applaud the xtrm guys for giving out ANY purse. The FIM s1/mx1/enduro 1 races don't.

I did some rough calculations, based on:
    25 riders
    x3 classes
    x125 per class

(keep in mind for 08 there was not one race that had full grids for all 3 classes)

The entries don't even add up enough to pay for the purse.

So the fact they are willing to knowing go into an event and know they are going to lose money -- that's doing it for the love of the sport.

I wasn't complaining! I was confused and wanted to know for sure. I worked out a budget for this year and had originally included getting my entry fee back like last year. That's all.

Not true Josh, SMUSA and STTARS both hope to have a pro purse at the am national events that are not part of the pro series.

    Horsethief Mile - June
    Prairie City - July
    Reno-Fernley - August

Not sure if you relaize it or not, and it's been a while, But Chiz used to be the all time winningest SMUSA racer - (cash paid out). any time we paid a big purse Josh was there, usually at the front of the line. sadly he only came when there was money

Chicks and trophies... "Professional Supermoto" is an oxymoron, much like "professional waterskiing" Taking nothing away from the admiration of the enthusiasts who do care! The purse is hardly going to cover your expenses. Like Ricky Graham said to me after winning 12/16 Pro AMA Dirt Track events in '93, "I've got nothing to show for it!, what do the rest of these guys do? I won most of the races???

Be thankful there is a series for now during this economy...

i understand the lack of funds --- but if you are going to pay back 10 places , at least structure it so 10 th at least covers the $ 125.00 entry fee. - less than that is a slap in the face --

just rounding numbers off, with entry fee's for all 3 classes they barely hit 10k per event from entry fee's.....Ok, Im a business owner and as i stood there looking at 6.30am on the morning of fontana I asked myself this.....where the hell do they get the money from???? because just to think of putting 1 event like fontana on is going to cost a whole lot more than 10k, i bet rental of the track alone is more than that, then all the other things you may not be thinking of, emsa, officials, tech people (AMA) just to name a few of they many things needed to host these events....So from a business point of view I would be out and if this were my business it would be over a long time ago, So think of the $125 entry as giving back to the sport because someone else is picking up a pretty big tab I would think, hense why I try hard to support the people who support our sport, ie I buy and pay retail for my Troy Lee gear and have no problem doing so, as he gives back to supermoto. One of your presidents said, ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country, just apply this statement to our sport "supermoto" I hope the saying was correct, i'm a Kiwi so excuse me if it's wrong. So with that said, to whom you are footing the over expenses of this sport and to host the events, I thank you very much and to those who wish to complain, wake up early at the next event and just stand and look at all the things involved just to let you ride, then put a price tag on all those things and youll be pretty happy about the 125 per event entry.....just my 2 cents....
