Default Deal on a KTM 640 SUMO

Anybody know anything about a 2001 KTM 640 SuperMoto. I found one for $3000, but don't know anything about them. Is it a good bike, any specific issues? I was looking to buy a 625smc and found this. Any info would be great.

Oh Lord........ I found another straggler.........

I know there was a difference in the head on the later models (2004 on up I believe)... They went to a "hi-flow" head.... I'm not sure of any other changes...

A good place to learn about the LC4 based bikes is http://www.advrider.com/forums/searc...searchid=32554

That damn DS has got me hooked. I like seeing all the familiar faces here. I just thought thatb this bike would be a good start for the price and I will continue to look for a 625smc.

It's not a bad bike, but I picked up my 04 625SMC with 4k miles on it for $4k and it's got much nicer parts... hiflow head, FCR41, etc.

go for a 625, lighter, quicker.
pre 03 models have the black engines which only have 1.3 litre of oil in it vs 1.9 litre for the 03-07 models which make the latter more reliable.
Now I have a 02 625 with 10,000 miles on the clock and never had a problem, so I dont know what to think
The 625 has 660 engine parts, it is much quicker. I know; my wife has a 640..
The one to have is the 625 as it does not have the 1000 miles servicing issue from the 660, it is every 3000 like the 640!!!
My 625 as with time Lc4 put on weight like my wife (lol!!) only weighs 123 kilos stock!!
this is light, only 10 more than a race ready supermotard that will need oil change every 500 miles.
