Can't make this one Larry. Bummer too...bike is totally ready.

I've raced Starke many times. Did a NASMOTO event there back in 2006. People like to crash coming off that first double as you enter the dirt section on the backside. I might suggest to have a cornerworker there as you can't see when you hit that double if someone is laying in the landing zone.

I'm doing my best to plan for the year, and keep a budget ready. So hopefully I'll be able to hook up with ya'll soon!

    Larry,

Any idea on # of pre-registered riders yet? Also, do you know if anyone will be out with tire changing equipment? Some races I attended on West Coast had local motorcycle companies staffing a small area with tire changing equipment. Just curious.

The triple (Three singles for me) is there so we can see how it is done by the PROs.

That triple is stupid big and unforgiving. The owner of the local MX track that I grew up riding at wouldn't even consider putting something like that on his track. Sure, there were singles leading into big tabletops that the fast guys would get 100+ feet out of, but there was a margin of error allowed. I shall bow down to anyone who hits it on slicks

Like what do you mean by stupid big? What's the gap between them? Is there a berm you can launch off in the corner?

Last time i rode there it was a flat suger sand right hander run too them. I can't remember the distance of them, but id sat they are at least 4-5 ft tall & steep. The clay added will be HUGE, in the run too them, for those with BALLS OF STEEL.

My definition of stupid big is relative. I'd estimate the gap at only 35-45ft, but the first single is a pretty short kicker and all three jumps are steep and short. The landing seems like you'd have to put both wheels on the ground at the same time in the perfect position because it's also pretty short and steep. All of this being said, I have very little SM dirt experience (only dirt bikes) so I'm probably overstating it. It looks like the kind of thing I would have followed someone over on my dirtbike and hoped for the best. I'm sure some of you guys will laugh at it, but from my eyes, its just plain scary. I'd like to try to double in and single out, but I really don't plan on trying to make the whole thing. BTW, there's plenty of run up to it IMO. Speed won't be the factor, rather technique and SM jumping experience .

If I remember correctly, it's a 90 foot triple, which is okay for MX. There is a berm, but it's a long way from the first jump. The last time I rode there, it was sandy all the way from the berm to the jumps. (Imagine that, sandy in Florida!) Only the pros were jumping it and only half of them. I'll dig around because I'm pretty sure I've got a picture of Henry clearing it.

I probably need to get my eyes checked because I don't remember it being nearly that big. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm way off. That would be awesome if you found that picture because after all, a picture is worth 1000 words. Looking forward to meeting ya Friday, and glad you could make it
