    Default 2009 450 SX-F Supermoto???

Does anyone have one of these and can any one tell me how they like it. I am looking at all the new 09 bikes, KTM to Jap bikes and I am looking for the fastest out of the box bike. I believe the KTM is the bike but want to hear feed back from someone who actually has one.

This is the bike I have up for sale to replace.

    All pictures and help appreciated.

the 450sxf is probably the fastest of the 450's, other than the aprilia. but if all out power is what you want, you should put a 570 kit in your 525... just my opinion, looks like you have a nice bike there, no need for replacement unless you require a 450 class bike. Also, i would head over to thumpertalk or ktmtalk in the regular dirt sections to hear actual reviews, not too many have the SM setup.

well unless they have changed the 4 speed, people were not building the sx-f's, but the xc-f's as they had the 5 speed. it is basically the entire trans that would have to be changed to do the conversion.

Yeah I hear you. And thanks, I really do like my bike but it just is not a great race/track bike. It is good but not great. I bought it to ride on the mountain roads and got into SM track and racing. I do not ride on the road anymore so it would be better off in the hands of someone that will use on the street. I am sure that 570 kit would be fast.

I was thinking about the XC-f but it is a pretty heavy bike. 247 without gas. Not much different than my bike as far as weight. Although I hear they are fast.

I am starting to look at the 08 or 09 Honda. Big Valley Honda in Reno, Nv has new 08's for 5400 out the door. It is going to be hard to pass that up.

really, complaining an rfs based 525 is heavy? seems light to me, but i am coming from a 600.

the twin cam motors are the fast ones, from what i hear, the 08 450 smr would be the one to have but they didnt bring them to the US.

09 honda with fuel injection would be a cool toy.

I mean it is not a pig but here is my problem. I weight 225lbs. Add me and my 250+ pound bike and I get pulled on the straights. I can be faster or even with riders in my class when it comes to all the twisty parts of the track but when we hit the straight I will loose ground. EXC was not built for the track. That is all I ride it on now. I am looking for lighter, faster revving and not a wide ratio gear box. But love the KTM so just deciding whether I should stick to them or move back to Jap bikes.

Would do the 09 honda or XC-F. You can remove all the XCF fluff and get a bike that weight wise is comparable with the SX but with more gears.

you could put close ratio gears in your trans and get rid of the electric start system. after that go with the 41mm carb, 8-06 or hot cam and you have a 525sx. add in a big bore kit 570 from thumper racing (not the stroker kit) and you'll rev fast, and go like hell. It uses a 99mm bore compared to the 100mm in the 560, so almost the same accept it will fit in your cases. I'm about the same size as you and ride a 525sx, 560's will pull away from me, but after the 570 kit I think it'll be more even.

if your set on the SX-F i don't think you'll miss the extra gears if you ride kart/supermoto tracks. BTW what sprockets do you run?? I run 13/48 with the sx close ratio trans, I bet you could run like 13/50 or 13/51 with the wide ratio trans. I bet with that, the 41mm carb and 8/06 cam you'd be suprised at how it pulls.
