Red face Suzuki DRZ400s to Supermoto project!

After I sold my CRF, i bought myself a DRZ. But as the DRZ was finished and not so much left to do, and wintertimes. I decided to buy a cheap ass DRZ and tune it up to what it looks like now:

When i bought it, it was old plastics. Everything dusty and scratched.

Anodised blue standard, what a match! Grey gastank, Ductape tuned speedometer, best headlight ever etc etc

At first i ripped a part the whole bike, and sent the gastank to a friend of mine:

Than receiver whole lot of parts:
    headlight:

    front fender:

    muffler/silincer from crf450:

    hand guards:

    And some other small stuff:
    -Sealsavers
    -RMZ start button
    -Renthal Handlebars

    And of course supermoto wheels!!
Still got some stuff to do, but this is how it looks atm.

And the following graphics will be printed asap:

Already got rid of the "standard" drz wheels, and bought excels with talon hubs. And braking discs

Wow! Way to freshen the old girl up.

Next step might be to replace the weathered, stock header pipe with a nice fat aftermarket one or even a proper full system.

It would help both cosmetically and performance. Even though I still run the stock pipe myself.

That bike is now worthy of a nice blingy pipe set up.

I like the headlight. By the looks of it the blinkers are integrated into it?

First i'm gonna paint the stock header. Later on will probally buy a MRD exhaust.

Also ripped the bike apart again, gonna powdercoat the frame and all black.

You can use them as blinkers if you want, but i just use them as headlight. It gives lot of light, and it looks badass with the LEDs

Nice, I converted an S model, all except the suspension. I am making that my winter project for 2012-13, I am going from end to end, every suspension bit I can upgrade, brakes 320mm, forks/risers/triples, rear shock, forks, brakes, sprockets/chain, sliders, the full bit to make it a proper SM cosmetically and functionally.

I like what you have done, she looked a little tired in the before photo but now refreshed and vibrant... good job
Trust me, im not an expert, but I know a guy who did this once!!!

I would like to get the forks as well, but paying 300+ for forks & tripples is too much for me. Maybe later but rather spent that money on a big bore kit

I've got sliders laying around, will fit them anytime soon. Project is not done yet

Sounds really great! But it isn;t a bolt on. I've welded it to fit.

Nice headlight, I just ordered the same one in white a few days ago for my crf project. Did it come with the big white sticker already on it?

Got my triples out, and a few other little parts what will be powdercoated.

Also got my engine out and this will be spainted gray like the cylinder, and the exhaust will be sprayed black again.

Did the UFO headlight come with amber LED strips to replace the white ones for use as turn signals? Some descriptions I read say it comes with the amber LED strips, but when I emailed UFO they said no.

    No it wasn't included.

But you could just spray them orange

je fiets ziet er geweldig uit!
I like the latest pics, i'm in a similar situation as you with my 'S' model. What size rear tire/rim are you using? Is it grinding on the chain?

    Looks nice!

WTF was the previous owner thinking with that headlight? It's beyond awful, I hope you took a hammer to it and put it out of its misery.

Nice dizz. I recently built my buddies e model .. I gotta post some pics. It was beat. After 3 months of ebayin and other it's a new bike. (everything except motor, frame, bars)Have u thought of gettin the sm swing arm? I got one for him for 50$ almost brandnew. Also I hear you on the Bigbore kit. I have a drzsm that started out stock and have done mods , just nothin to the motor besides hotcams and fcr-mx 39,

What Bigbore are you thinking of running?

Not sure yet if ill get a bigbore, maybe i leave it stock. It's pretty hard to sell the Dizzer with a bigbore in he Netherlands.

With this swing arm it's easier to set the chain.

Yea buddy, love the last pic. Been there myself. Thinking...dirt. It's whats for dinner.
As for the chain adjustment . It's easier with the sm swing, it has bolt adjustments (10 ,12 mm)

Also what would u get if you sold the dizz? I am always dreamin about sellin mine for a 11' husaberg or a aprillia 450

I think the price will be around 3000 euros. The Dizzers are becoming pretty populair over here.

A friend of mine got an ape, but it is terrible. That's why i love my dizz so much, so low maintenance schedule!
