This seems like a good idea to me; Start a list of "MUST DO" mods or "fixes" for the DRZ400. I am a new owner and I have spent hours searching through all the threads for the most common or "must do" mods for the DRZ400SM. Hopefully this list will help future owners or current owners that haven't come across the information.

List of MUST DO mods or FIXES for the DRZ400:

Probably going to get slagged for this, but everything you've mentioned above, is in the FAQ'S at this site.
http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=397

And the drzparts.com references most likely have been taken from the above site as well.

The MCCT youtube movie quoted above is not the most recommended way of doing that fix, albeit prolly the most common way. Best to take valve cover off and establish TDC. Again, everything is in the FAQ'S.

hope i didnt break any forum rules.

Doing hours of research as you have done, above and beyond all the posted FAQ's, will pay off when you do the fixes. I've done most of them along with some of the other small issues and the extra research will really help you with things "not to do."
But,
I dont know if you have done this or not yet. Look at the 3 pages in the link I posted. Along with all the extra research you already did, you will have have everything done before long.
Putting it all together in this forum would probably be a good idea as well if it hasnt been done yet.

Sorry for all the jibberish, been up all night with a screaming baby. Ill leave this thread and let you do your thing.
