    Default Xl600r project has started

I have finally started my motard project
I only have a engine from xl600r and a gas tank but my throughts are it will be cheaper to go this route an build a bike . If I were to by a xl600 for say 2000 $ . I would change everything on the bike to the way I want it . when I'm done I'll have 4000$ into the bike, so y not just build it

Traded tractor parts for an 83.....................
    Initial cost was around $400

    .

Purchased some parts from ebay............... scrounged up some good deals locally.
Had paint and parts left from other projects that I put to use.
Took countless hours to get it done...................

I'd take $4K for the thing.

    .

    .

Good luck, and post up pics of your progress.

    Default Xl600 pics

thanks for the message everyone. lots of info and nice pics
well over the weekend my buddy let me borrow a spare frame of his so i could start mocking stuff up. i had a 94 cbr600 f2 awhile back and just parted it out but still have a few things left. i had the front forks with rim and brakes and the rear swinger with the brakes. i had to do some grinding to get the clamps for the xl to fit on the f2 forks, now i have dual disc up front. the back tire is so close to fitting i just have to get the 520 sprocket for the f2 rim and i think it will work. i also hooked up the rear caliper . i just need to weild some brackets on the swinger and frame and pingking if u dont mind im stealing your headlight mod. i have to hellas foglamps for my old truck that im not putting on the truck anymore haha. im working on getting pics for you guys and girls

Looks good........................ great that you're making progress. You've been busy.

Just try to keep the master cylinder link connector as close to the pedal pivot as possible. The closer it is, the better it'll work.

I had the KCs leftover from a roll bar project.

Hellas are cool, have always liked the looks of those.

    Default rear disk

Is the brake pedal moving the plunger enough to do anything?
I put a 650L swingarm on my 85 XR350 and I couldn't use the 350 brake pedal (like yours) and have it engage the plunger enough. Just doesn't move in enough of an arc.
I had to adapt a 400 brake pedal which has a longer "back heel" part to engage the master cycl.

well bud im going to have to do some modding to it,but it does move it enough . if u look at the pic u can see its right now sticking up in the air next to kick starter going to have to cut it off and wield it down lower. cause it was meant to pull a rod to pull the lever for the drum brake not push upward.
if that makes any sense i suck at talking ,typing ,spelling.
