Yo,
so I ride my 125 4-stroke SM with Astars Tech 3 MX boots- and it is so hard for me to up-shift.
First there is no feeling or what-so-ever for the shifter peg and second I just cant raise my boot enought to shift. Than I have to like kick the peg
and it is so focking hard and annoying.

Do you people-who-ride-with-MX-boots have similar troubles or is it just that my boot cant move at all.

How do you other guys shift?

It sounds like your shift lever is too high. Adjust the shifter one spline down and see if that helps.

As far as the boots go, you will get the hang of it.

I was involved in a research project a couple of years ago on this very terrain. We tested out the force that riders used for their upshifts and discovered that the riders with a MX background absolutely stomp and kick the shift lever, while riders with a street background gently flick the upshift lever up.

I've even run a couple of laps at the track with a road race boot on my left foot and a Tech8 on my right hoof as I was trying to get more feel out of a shift as I was missing the occasional upshift. adjustment is obviously the first step to go through, positioning the lever for your foot, but at the end of the day, really all you have to do is kick it into gear harder.

I've heard about people putting in a stiffer spring in their rear brake pedal to increase feel for finite adjustments while backing it into a corner.

:Funny::Funny::Funny::Funny:

I really don't stomp on the lever or crank up on it. I really do just snick the lever up and down.

I also teach dirt bike schools and really try to break my students of that early.

But, i can see where it happens. If you race or ride in the woods and taught yourself to ride, you would do it that way.

I ride in my tech 8 alpinestars and sometimes have issues with shifting but I've gotten used to it.

If not, you can also just slightly swing your left knee outward and the inside of your boot will raise and shift. It's easier than trying to swivel your ankle to shift.
Thats how I shift with boots on.
try it to see if it helps ?
